About This Project

Five weeks of shooting in Cisternino ( BR) and Santa Maria di Leuca ( LE).

Despite being previous to the company’s foundation, The First Task was the first test of a team project for the production staff that would then become Dinamo Film and handled the whole organization of this movie. From this point of view, the title couldn’t have been more appropriate also for the staff that worked on it.

The movie:

In Puglia of the fifties, young Nena is caught between the complex relationship with her mother and the love for middle-class Francesco, until she gets a letter from the Education Authority assigning her a post in a tiny elementary school in the Salento hinterland

The mistrust and hostility of the place make her face difficult moments of loneliness and to find solace in the arms of an unsophisticated youth of the area after Francesco tells her that he’s in love with another woman.

Nena decides to spend the rest of her life in that town and in that beat-up school.
